The firm, KTB Designs is primarily involved in residential design, both remodeling and new construction, in Austin and the surrounding areas of the Highland Lakes and Hill Country. To better serve the clients in the Lake LBJ area we have opened an office in Sunrise Beach, Texas, which is one hour from Austin.

Ms. Borth works on approximately 15 new projects a year and is involved in all aspects of the design from the initial consultation and review of the project, through the selections to the final installation. A particular strength in her design work is her ability to write well thought out specifications for finishes and then to communicate with the contractors how these finishes are to be installed.

The finished design projects reflect the tastes and interest of the individual client and usually involve materials of high quality appropriate to the style and era of the home and of its owner. Nothing trendy or short lived will be used. Usually, the interiors are then furnished with a blend of new and practical furniture selections mixed with the time worn charm of sentimental favorites and things which have special meaning to their owners. Sometimes though, we are called upon to create a totally new environment for the next phase of a homeowner’s life.

Services: include review of floorplan, lighting plan and cabinet layout. In addition, help determine budget for the project and design with in that budget. Selection and specifications for all finishes, fixtures and documentation of these finishes. Furniture layouts which incorporate new and existing furniture, window coverings, artwork, painted finishes and custom furniture.

Fees: Hourly design fee. Design fee estimated after the first meeting when the scope of the project is determined.

Awards: KTB Designs has been a frequent past winner of the local ASID competition and has had projects published in both local and national publications. A busy schedule has prevented entering the last two years but hope to get back to participating this year.

Schedule: All appointments should be scheduled by phone. Meetings for the Lake LBJ area will be on Monday or Friday and after the initial consultation will be at the office @114 Deer Drive Sunrise Beach Texas. Appointments in Austin are usually scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday. References and a project list will be furnished upon request.
